Are you afraid that the contents of your phone can be peeked when you hand out it to your friends just to show some photos? When you accidentally leave your phone at home, do you worry that your family might check your log in history or other contents?  With App Defender, you can lock each application and to protect your privacy.

Pay version does not show advertisements and can set a passcode from 4 to 8 digits. 

Overview

App Defender prevents activation of applications by a passcode to protect your privacy.  It requires a passcode at starting up applications so that other people cannot get the information you do not wish to reveal such as browser history or e-mails. Unlike the passcode of mobile phone itself, App Defender can set a passcode for each application.
 When a wrong passcode is entered three times, it shows you the number of input so you can see that someone attempts to release the lock of your phone.

Set up


  • Setting a passcode.
    After install App Defender, first set up a passcode.  With this passcode, the lock of applications can be released.
    Do not to forget the passcode.
    1. Start up App Defender, click the menu key and select settings.
    2. Select passcode setting.
    3. Enter a passcode. Also enter the same passcode again for confirmation. Click OK to set the passcode.
    4. Setting for unlock valid time.
      Setting the time of relock an application from being released by the passcode.
      • Until screen OFF (recommended).
        Once an application is released, it does not show the passcode entry screen until the screen become OFF.
      • Setting by time.
        It will not show the passcode entry screen until certain time is passed.
        Initial setting is until next screen OFF (recommended).
        You can set the time from 30 seconds to 1 hour.
    5. Select applications to guard
      Click “Select the applications to protect” and check the applications to be guarded by the passcode entry screen.

FAQ

  • I forgot the passcode.
    Please uninstall App Defender.
  • I cannot lock
    Check if the check box of “Activate the function” in the start up window is OFF. If it is OFF, turn it ON. Have you set the passcode? If not, please set it up.
  • What is the difference between free and pay version?
    With the pay version, you can set the passcode from 4 to 8 digits while it is fixed to 4 digits with the free version.
    Also the pay version does not show advertisements.
  • Guard is released.
    To have more secure guard, intend to guard the following applications.
    -Settings
    -Market
    -Task applications
    -Applications with an uninstall function

    App Defender intends to be a casual lock application to prevent peeking by your family or friends. It does not support when a task is closed by task manager or uninstalled. If you wish to have perfect guard, system lock is recommended.
  • After lock is released, it cannot lock.
    The initial setting is that the passcode entry screen does not appear after releasing lock until next screen OFF with the same application. You can change it to lock by time at the setting of unlock valid time.
  • Galaxy S/S2 can release lock by task manager.
    Please guard task manager as well.
    You can prevent the activation of task manager. Press and hold the HOME Key (the center button).
  • Some models can easily release lock.
    Some Android phone manufacturers are doing original extension. Therefore, in some cases, the guard can be avoided by operation.
    We are afraid that we do not have any plans to support each model at the moment.
